I am a registered clinical psychologist with 30 years experience working as a clinical psychologist in various clinical settings.
My journey with psychology was extensively in private practice or as part of the psychiatric team at adult- and child psychiatric units.
Working with medical conditions is a special interesting and I have worked as part of the medical team in hospital settings managing clients with related conditions such as pain management..
Initially I was trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), clinical hypnosis and solutions orientated psychotherapeutic approaches at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Currently, I am the founding president of the Australian Institute of Clinical Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (AICHP) and the founding Director of the Milton H Erickson Institute of Sydney Australia (EISA) that provides training internationally for mental health and medical professionals in the fields of clinical hypnosis, ego state therapy and somatic approaches to psychotherapy.
Furthering my interest and specialisation in working with the physiology and the body, I am also registered Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), with extensive experience working with trauma and trauma related conditions, such as complex trauma. I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and Eye Movement Integration (EMDR) and Eye Movement Integration (EMI) for the treatment of trauma.
Sport psychology is further interest and specialisation and I have worked with multiple professional athletes in various sports.
My therapeutic approach is respectful and accepting. I enjoy working creatively with the unique resources of clients to develop individualised solutions to change cognition and experience.
